Wife of innocent man desperately needing legal advice?

My husband was recently arrested for supposedly inappropriately touching a child. The thing is, not only have I known this man for 24 years and KNOW he is incapable of it - but I was also present the entire time this event supposedly happened. It simply did not happen and the child in question is either lying to protect someone else or has had a dillusional fantasy. She was molested years ago by a relative and I suspect she has left over issues from that.





We do not have the money to hire a private attorney and am winging it with a public defender. No one seems to know much about the fellow, although he SEEMS competent. He's already hired an investigator, which I consider a positive sign.





Cases such as these have become a witch hunt and I am terrified for my husband. He is nearing middle age and has never been in trouble for a thing in his life. He has scores of friends and family who KNOW he is innocent. He is a highly respected business owner.

I think you don't need to worry because your husband is innocent. Have faith on the judicial system and be patient. The court do considers the ';background'; of the accused i.e. the past history and previous good character. You husband is a highly respected business owner and the charges on him are put by a child. The court takes extreme caution when it has to admit evidences and testimony from a child.





The burden of proof is always on the prosecution ( the government attorney and police) to prove beyond reasonable doubt that your husband has committed the offense. And I don't think there would be any evidences which can prove that the same has been done by your husband.





If you can't hire an attorney then please look for some legal aid which is provided free if you meet certain requirements. You haven't mentioned from which place you belong. first of all i don't believe you. if he did it you need me....i charge $225 per hour prep and $400 per hour for trial. i need a fifty thousand dollar retainer.....if he didn't do it you need me more how much is his bail? .
